Nizza Monferrato and the territory that surrounds it in the magical Asti-Alba-Acqui Terme triangle (of which Nizza is the center), offer countless events throughout the course of the year, testifying the history, traditions and culture of the people of Monferrato.
It is not easy to decide what to see or visit, and that is the reason why we chose to suggest a path driven by places, dates and most importantly your interests.

Antiques market
The antiques market is organized by the Municipal Administration, the Pro Loco Association - Antiques Market Section and the Philatelic Numismatic Circle.
Your rendez-vous with history and ancient things (items, furniture, etc.) brings together fans and experts coming from many different regions that gather in the very central Piazza Garibaldi every third Sunday of the month.
The market takes place in via Carlo Alberto, a bit further along the arcades of piazza Garibaldi. Farmers from all over Regione Piemonte can take part in this market and each time guest farmers from adjacent regions are admitted, offering typical products of their territory (oil, rice, cheese, sausages, etc.).
The fair takes its name from a statue of Christ resurrected sculpted by a German prisoner during World War I. Stored in the Santa Trinità church at first, it then moved to the church of San Giovanni.
The fair house an exposition of agricultural machinery, as well as the festival of the famous and delicious "torta verde"&.
During Nizza è Barbera, the town of Nizza Monferrato becomes a great wine capital, where visitors can taste NIZZA D.O.C.G. and all the other Barbera D.O.C.G. and D.O.C. wines from Piedmont, face to face with the people who make them!
It is a tradition originated in the 17th century: apprentices of barrel making shops would deliver the barrels by rolling them on the street, often competing in actual races among them.
"Monferrato in tavola" is an enogastronomic event taking place in Piazza Garibaldi with alongside the barrel race. Various Pro Loco are present, each offering dishes belonging to the traditions of Monferrato.
Over a hundred fans coming from all over Europe take part in the annual International sugar-bag collectors meeting held in Nizza Monferrato (AT) by Figli di Pinin Pero & C. S.p.A.
Taking a walk on the ridge of a hill holding a glass of delicious Barbera in your hand, guided by the scents of Piedmont dishes: this is what the eno-gastronomic walk "da 'n piot a l'oter" of San Michele, small fraction of Nizza Monferrato, is all about.
In the first days of August, the traditional rendez-vous with the festival at Borgo Bricco Cremosina in honor of the "Madonna della neve" is back: religious ceremonies, fantastic cooking, dancing, music, games and walks on the hills of the "Bricco".
Exposition and trade of cars, motorcycles, military vehicles and relative spare parts. During the years this event grew more and more successful, becoming one of the main events in this sector thanks to the remarkable number of visitors.
The San Carlo festival has very old origins: it started in the year 1516 as an act of liberalism towards the people of Nizza by Guglielmo IX, Marquis of Monferrato. Nizza never forgot to celebrate such event, recurring between the end of october and the beginning of november. The reasons are to be found in the devotion the people of Nizza have for their Patron Saint, to which a local tradition credits the Miracle of the lamp. During this festival the annual "Day of the cardo gobbo, truffles and barbera" takes place.
LIBRI IN NIZZA (Books in Nizza) is an exhibition of publishing products, books and comics, with a special presence of antique books. The event is focused on publishings that have a relationship with the landscapes and eno-gastronomic aspects of the territory, as well as publishings related to famous names of the local culture.
Several times during the year Nizza celebrates the product that most of all distinguishes it: the Cardo Gobbo di Nizza. During on of such occasions, the third weekend of November, bagna cauda is served at a large table in the Foro Boario. It is the perfect occasion, for those who appreciate this dish, to taste it at it's best: in company.
Every year on December 26th at 12.30, the Pro Loco offers appetizers to the townsfolk under the "Campanon" in the City Hall square, as a memento of the rebellion of the Nizza people to the Savoia monarchy during Napoleon's times.
Starting in 2006, the Festival of the fax ox brings the ancient livestock market of Nizza back to life. In the 15th century Nizza was famous in all of Piedmont for its weekly livestock market.
